What the courses are?
The courses are for development of
speech and behavior in a functional way through repetition and using of strong
visual channels and as per the child’s learning modality. The behavior, speech and language is
enhanced through the course.
What the courses are not?
The courses are meant to be taught
orally and not intended to writing development. Instead they can be used in
daily conversation and the actions and behavior described to be practiced in
actual situations in their own language by the parent/ trainer who teaches him.
1. Action
series
Objective:(Expression and
Communication) The course is for children with minimal language to
increase comprehension and use of hand skills more to eventually communicate
with gestures and words.
Exercises: This includes exercise on
attention, day to day verbal concepts, commands, and videos on basic hand skills .
Requisite: The child despite being high on
activity, should be able to sit for 10 minutes. The communication of needs and
meaningful engagement of his time is attained through repeated 10 to 20 minute
sessions thrice a week or everyday.
Age :
5- 7 years .
2.My first talk series .
Objective: (Expression and
Communication) is a course for children who is picking on expressive speech to
communicate.
Exercises: This includes exercises on
prepositions, verbs and question words to be used in day today conversation .
Requisite: The children should be
able to do imitation in a small way. The child learns to involve in daily conversations
and answer questions through repeated exposure. Needs 20-minute sessions thrice
a week or everyday .
Age group : 7-10 years.
3. Ride
with me series
Objective: (Vocabulary and reading)
is a course for children who is learning alphabets and words.
Exercise: This includes words from
Dolsch list and its meaningful usage.
Requisite: The child should have the
ability to sit with learn for half an hour or more. He builds vocabulary for
daily conversation. Needs 20-minute sessions thrice a week or every day.
Age group : 7-10 years
4. Paint My Life
series
Objective: (Expression and
Communication) is a course for children who is developing on judgement.
Exercise: This includes exercises
which can show more ways of English expressions -7 basic expressions to convey
our ideas. The child also learns more
finer expressions.
Requisite: The child should have
started on with learning language and reading. The child uses appropriate
judgement to answer. The child learns to
involve in daily
conversations and answer questions through repeated 10 to 20 minute sessions every day.
Age
group: 9-11 years.
5. Include me series .
Objective:
(Expression and Communication) The
course is for accumulating verbal concepts as a prerequisite to language
development.
Exercises: Exercises are on commonly
used verbal concepts which are grouped under appropriate categories as 5 sets. This
ensures comprehension and vocabulary development.
Requisite: The child should have
basic receptive vocabulary. He learns to sort pictures and categories to develop verbal concepts. He learns it through repeated 10 to 20-minute sessions
every day.
Age group:
11-13 years.
6.Timing Series
Objective: the course is for
understanding the aspect of time and timing in our life.
Exercise: The child is made aware of how
time is being used by adults in life.
Requisite: A receptive vocabulary of
100 words is enough to learn the timing series. The learning of which will enable
them to get oriented to day to day functioning. Age concept is also introduced
along with this module. He learns it through repeated 10 to 20-minute sessions
every day.
Age Group: 9 -13 years .
7. Growth series:
Objective: (The concept of change) is
for understanding the changes happening around us which can be growth, or
development or just change.
Exercise: The child is made aware of
the changes that can happen across different fields because of
development and
growth. However negative consequences are not touched upon.
Requisite: The child needs receptive
vocabulary of 100 words to comprehend the pictures. He learns it
through
repeated 10 to 20-minute sessions every day.
Age group: 10-14 years.
8. Value
series:
Objective: The course is for
developing the concept of valuing oneself which is the beginning of a
purposeful existence. The starting point to develop beneficial habits starts
from this series.
Exercise: The child is given exercise
to teach self care beyond the basics. Simple tips can be learned to form
routines. Its more of being aware of ones looks.
Requisite: The child needs receptive
vocabulary of 100 words to comprehend the pictures. The child can also learn
this set of actions without adequate vocabulary also. He learns it through
repeated 10 to 20minute sessions every day.
Age group :13-15 years.
9. Trust development series:
Objective: The course is for extending
skills beyond eye contact, greeting or smiling. The child is taught to include others.
Inclusion is the concept taught here.
Exercise: The exercises are to
develop the attitude of recognizing others respecting others and helping
others.
Requisite: The child needs to know a basic vocabulary of
300 words. He learns it through repeated 10 to
20-minute sessions every
day.
Age group: 13- 15 years
